Time Flies When You’re Not Having Fun
Joe Biden has been president for nearly a year now–due to the safest election in US history.
The real question is this: what’s happened in year? Well, that’s what this blog post is for. Let’s cut through all the rhetoric and propaganda to truly recall what happened under Year 1 of the Biden regime.
Just to note, Joe Biden has become an extremely unpopular President. A recent Quinnipiac University poll found that his approval ratings have tanked to 33% in their most recent report. Not a good luck. It’s honestly surprising how many people have turned on President Biden in just one year. This post might help explain how his popularity has tanked.
So, let’s dive right into a review of Year 1 of the Joe Biden’s presidency. Here’s to another 3 more years haha!
What happened?
I’m just going to go over some of the most key events/policies of his presidency. This post is not all-encompassing, but I hope that it will encourage you to better understand what’s been going on.
1. High Inflation
In year 1 of Biden’s presidency, the American people are suffering from its highest inflation rates in decades. Inflation has hit 7% in the last year (based on the CPI). Inflation is probably higher than that for most families, but it’s not in the best interest of the government to say that inflation is over 10%. Anyways, food prices, gasoline, cars, housing, lumber, and much more have seen significant price hikes under Biden’s presidency–leaving American families much poorer.
It hasn’t helped that the Fed has flooded the money supply with trillions of dollars and that Biden signed a 1.9 Trillion dollar “stimulus” package (i.e. the American Rescue Plan) in early 2021.
Clearly, the American economy is doing quite poorly overall–especially compared to the economic growth we saw in the first three years of the Trump presidency. However, high inflation is the probably the most concerning aspect of the economy for ordinary Americans.
Inflation sucks for ordinary people, but it’s good for big borrowers like the United States Federal Government.
I will say that the Stock market has boomed under Biden. But, I honestly don’t care that much because a booming stock market does not equate with a strong economy for ordinary Americans.
2. The Border Crisis
If you haven’t heard, America is being invaded. We’re currently being invaded from our Southern border–not by a foreign army but by illegal immigration. Where to begin?
First off, Biden stopped the construction of the border wall on the Southern border. Congressman Paul Gosar posted this picture on his Instagram recently. Here’s what Yuma, Arizona has looked like ever since the border wall construction stopped. Answer: it’s not good.
Moreover, over one Million illegal aliens crossed the border in 2021! The estimated number is probably closer to 2 million, but who knows at this point? Illegal border crossings in 2021 have pretty much doubled from 2020 levels.
Sure, illegal border crossings have skyrocketed. Has there been anything done to further secure the border? Not much. Quite the opposite actually. Biden signed an executive order to halt the construction of the border wall on the US-Mexico border.
With all of the illegal immigration plaguing our country, we’ve seen plenty of other tangential issues pop up on the border. Human smuggling, drug running, and crime have become normal aspects of life at the Southern border,
In effect, it’s absolute chaos at the Southern border.
3. Vaccine Mandates
President Biden has done everything in his power to force the COVID-19 vaccine on American citizens.
Last July, the White House mandated that all federal employees either take the COVID-19 vaccine or lose their job. The US Military was also included in this mandate. However, the mandates didn’t stop there.
Last Fall, the Biden administration issued two additional vaccine mandates on the private sector. Biden created a new OSHA rule that forced all employers with more than 100 employees to have all their employees fully vaccinated for COVID or test on a weekly basis. The second mandate required all “healthcare workers at facilities participating in Medicare and Medicaid” to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Where in the Constitution does is say that the President can mandate a medical procedure on 100+ million Americans? Nowhere is the correct answer.
Thankfully, the Supreme Court struck down the first of the two mandates recently. That’s definitely a major W. However, the Supreme Court upheld the medical worker mandate. “Our guy” SC Justice Brett Kavanaugh was the deciding vote in the 5-4 decision. Sadly, he voted in favor of the vaccine mandate for healthcare workers. What a disappointing decision.
4. Bonus: Grab-Bag of Blunders
-The Afghanistan withdrawal was an unmitigated disaster. 20 years of nation-building in Afghanistan all came crashing down in a matter of weeks. Due to poor leadership, 13 American soldiers died during the withdrawal. and thousands of Americans were left stranded in the country. America has become a joke on the world stage.
-Over 100,000 Americans died due to drug overdose (primarily from opioids) in 2021. Big Pharma had a role to play in that one.
-Many major American cities have witnessed a horrific crime waves. Murder, theft, and other crimes have unfortunately increased in many parts of the country.
-Biden made the US rejoin the Paris Climate Accord.
-Biden got rid of the Keystone XL Pipeline. No wonder gas prices have gotten so expensive. In essence, America has lost its energy independence.
-Biden has increased the annual cap of refugees coming to America from 15,000 to 125,000. Talk about an America-last immigration policy.
-Much much more ….
