In a previous post, I described my experience at Turning Point USA’s 2020 Student Action Summit (SAS). That post was pretty long. Thus, I wanted to write one more post—a shorter one to boot—about my post-SAS takeaways. I personally believe that self-reflection is one keys to learning and self-improvement. Since a bit of time has elapsed since SAS ended, I’ve had time to think about some of the major takeaways that I took from this conference.
- 1. NOW is the time to stand up for what I believe in!
- 2. Even though I’m young, I still have a part to play in the Conservative movement
- 3. What’s our goal for the young conservative movement? Answer: For our generation (Gen Z) to love America
- 4. We can and should hold our political leaders accountable
- 5. Mike Lindell—Look for God’s calling in our lives
- 6. Jeff Webb—Focus on the Long-term issues in America
- 7. Dave Rubin—Show other people that you’re not a bad person for wanting limited government
- 8. Dennis Prager—the Left (not liberals) destroys everything it touches
- 9. Kristi Noem—have intentional optimism
- 10. Tucker Carlson—We can opt-out of popular society’s life script (especially since popular society despises Christian, conservative, and family values)
- 11. Charlie Kirk—Don’t personalize politics & don’t end friendships over politics
- 12.Reach out to successful people/people you aspire to be like
- 13. Conservatives want to conserve freedom
- 14. Be A Happy Warrior
- 15. VP Mike Pence—Stay in the Fight to Keep America Great!!!
I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to attend SAS 2020. It was definitely the highlight of my year, and I hope many other young conservatives have the opportunity to go in the future too. Here’s to 2021, y’all!
I included a slideshow of some pictures I took of the speakers at SAS:
