I hope that we are all aware of the recent politicization of the US Military. For example, U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin recently stated that he plans to get rid of “racists and extremists” in the US military. He told the Senate Armed Services Committee that “the job of the Department of Defense is to keep America safe from our enemies. But we can’t do that if some of those enemies lie within our own ranks,” Chilling stuff. Fun fact. Secretary Austin served under Raytheon’s Board of Directors. Talk about the military industrial complex. Anyways, let’s get to a noteworthy development in the news.
The Politicization of the Military
Last week, Tucker Carlson criticized the US Military on his nightly Fox News show. His criticism centered around President Joe Biden’s first presidential speech.
In his speech, Biden promoted the US Military’s efforts to create body armor and “maternity flight suits” for pregnant female soldiers. Wait, flying pregnant women as pilots is a thing now? Well, it is now in 2021. Jokes aside, Tucker brought up some serious points in his monlogue.
Tucker Carlson’s original point here was that identity politics have infected the US Military. This reality may have dire consequences. While the US military is focusing on progressive ideology, China has built up its military. To the surprise of many Americans, China now has the largest navy in the world. Our adversary is also modernizing its military equipment and weapons in the hope of becoming the world’s sole superpower. We—the American people—should desire a military that is capable of protecting us from Chinese aggression in the coming decades.
Moreover, Tucker was not criticizing the idea of women in the military—as many people falsely claim. He wants our military to focus on what it does best: fighting our enemies and winning wars. Our military is not doing that right now, plain and simple. Besides our military’s poor decision-making in recent years, the most chilling part of this story was what followed next.
The Woke Military Strikes
After the Tucker Carlson Tonight Show aired, both the Pentagon and top military officials offered scathing criticisms of Tucker Carlson.
Concerning the Department of Defense, Pentagon press secretary John Kirby gave a press briefing on March 11th that should concern any patriotic citizen. Here is an excerpt from the press briefing:
“I’d like to briefly address some recent comments made by the host of a popular cable show about who serves in the military, and what that service means. I want to be very clear right up front that the diversity of our military is one of our greatest strengths … What we absolutely won’t do is take personnel advice from a talk show host or the Chinese military.”
So, is this guy the Pentagon press secretary? Unbelievable. Remind us again how diversity is a strength for the US military? The point of the military is to win wars—not to host diversity workshops/lectures. But, I digress.
But wait, there’s more. If you thought that is was bad enough that Department of Defense targeted Tucker Carlson, then prepare to be disturbed even further.
First off, Marine Master Gunnery Sgt. Scott H. Stalker—enlisted head of Space Force—posted a video on Twitter in which he scolded Carlson.
Stalker claimed that Tucker did not know what he was talking about because Carlson has never served a day in the military. His logic makes absolutely no sense. What’s even worse is that Stalker posted this video on his official Space Command twitter account. His actions were completely unacceptable and disgraceful to this country. Without question, he should no longer serve in this military after this inappropriate conduct. Nevertheless, he will never face repurcessions for his actions because conservatives have lost nearly every single institution in American society.
I decided to include some more tweets from the US military that tried to shame Tucker Carlson from stating reality—there is no direct evidence that pregnant women make the best fighter pilots.
Houston, We have a Problem
I don’t think people know how big of a problem this whole situation is.
For starters, the US military has acted as a politically neutral institution for the last 200+ years. That all went out the window once the US military targeted a private citizen (i.e. Tucker Carlson) for expressing a personal opinion.
Furthermore, most Americans have lost trust in their societies’ institutions. The US military (and firefighters) is one of the few major institutions that most Americans still trust. If our citizens cannot trust the military, then we should all feel apprehensive about our country’s future. Regardless of your political persuasion, we should all hope that our military would stop becoming a political instrument for the radical left. No one is going to benefit from the new Woke Military Industrial Complex—everyone except for defense contractors like Raytheon.
I am glad to see that Tucker remained brave despite the disgusting rhetoric from our nation’s military. I hope that the American people as a whole would exhibit the same kind of courage that Tucker showed in the face of the Woke Military Industrial Complex.
Just remember that Tucker Carlson has won as many wars as the US military in the last 20 years: 0.
