The Tin Can Conservative

A Patriot's Musings on Culture, History, Politics, and Faith

The Mother of America First

In March 2019, conservative political commentator Michelle Malkin gave a truly epic speech at CPAC.

For the uninitiated, CPAC is one of the popular conservative political conferences in the United States. Unfortunately, CPAC has become anything but conservative these days. Malkin’s 2019 speech was one of the last great speeches ever given at CPAC. The organization seems to only allow speakers that toe non-controversial topics like low corporate taxes, free speech, and criminal justice reform. In essence, CPAC has become a “controlled opposition” conference.

Now, Michelle Malkin is now a controversial figure in the conservative movement. Several years ago, Michelle Malkin was a fairly typical conservative political commentator. Other than her immigration-restrictist views (based), Malkin was a darling of mainstream conservative movement. She was a Fox News contributor, spoke at Koch-backed Americans for Prosperity events, and worked for the neo-con Young Americans for Freedom (YAF) organization.

That all changed in 2019. Malkin’s speech at CPAC was just the beginning. She really started to criticize the Conservative Establishment for its support of mass immigration in her CPAC speech and throughout the rest of 2019.

Sadly, the Conservative did what it does best–blacklisting truly conservative figures. Malkin was not chosen to speak at CPAC 2020 and got fired from YAF. So, what was the reason for her blacklisting? Malkin supported more conservative figures in what is known as the “America First” movement–such as Nick Fuentes, former US Representative Steve King, and Laura Loomer. This action was unforgiveable in the eyes of “Con Inc.”. But, I digress.

With that background in mind, let’s dive right into Michelle Malkin’s fiery 2019 CPAC speech.

Immigration has Consequences

In her twenty minute speech, Malkin started off strong. She relayed the imminent danger facing America’s future. Sure, things in America were getting better under the first two years of the Trump presidency in early 2019. However, the long-terms trends in America were still bleak due to one issue: immigration.

Immigration is a topic that most conservative commentators are either fearful to discuss or just don’t understand the issue altogether. Malkin is one of the few truth-tellers on the political right-wing when it comes to immigration.

In poetic fashion, Malkin stated that “Our shining city on a hill has become a much-abused doormat to the world. Building the border wall is just half the battle. The numbers tell all. Our future is dimmed. The odds are fearful.

In recent years, the United States has allowed over a million legal immigrants annually to come to our country. What’s more, tens of millions of illegal aliens currently live in the United States. Malkin points out these stats to show that America is being changed demographically–and not for the benefit of the native-born American people. The Chamber of Commerce, Major Corporations (such as the Agricultural industry), and leftists politicians are the ones who benefit from America’s current immigration policy.

Saliently, Malkin also made clear that both political parties are to blame for America’s border crisis and mass immigration from the 3rd world. Paul Ryan to the Bush family and Mitt Romney and “the ghost of John McCain” are just some of the leading figures in the modern Republican party that have failed when it comes to the topic of immigration.

us a flag under blue sky during daytime

Even though our situation is dire, few are standing up to confront the issue of mass immigration into the United States. Why is that the case? For one, libelous groups and media organizations–such as the Anti-Defamation League, Southern Poverty Law Center, and Color of Change (backed by George Soros)–attack and smear the real defenders of the American people. So, our political leaders either benefit from mass immigration or are to afraid to do something.

Using vivid imagery, Malkin truly brings to life the reality of the situation in front of us:

My fellow Americans, we stand at the bridge as Horatius stood at the narrow bridge over the Tiber River alone facing fearful odds as hordes of Etruscans marched towards him and cowards cut and run behind him. Like his enemies, our enemies are both foreign and domestic.

Simply put, our country is being invaded. Immigration is one of the biggest threats to America. For decades, tens of millions of immigrants have flooded this country. The current wave immigrants is not assimilating, and they generally support policies that are tearing our country apart.

Simply put, we are bringing in people that do not see themselves as Americans. The historic American people are being replaced. Michelle Malkin is one of the conservative voices who points this reality out. God Bless Michelle Malkin for her courage and her defense of America.

Anyways, I thought I’d close this post by providing a video recording of Michelle Malkin’s 2019 CPAC speech. It’s only 20 minutes long, so I highly recommend watching it!
