A Patriot's Musings on Culture, History, Politics, and Faith

Background

With the Russia-Ukraine conflict ongoing, I thought that I’d bring a different perspective to the table here. I constantly hear from American and international news media that Vlad Putin and Russia are the “bad guys”. For years, the American regime and media establishment have claimed that Putin and Russia are major threats to American interests and “democracy”. With Russia’s recent invasion of Ukraine, I decided to make a post to reframe the narrative.

I’m by no means a foreign policy wonk (nor a shill for Russia; I’ve personally been neutral toward Russia for a while). However, I’m skeptical of listening to the same people who lied to the American people about the Iraq war and America’s involvement in foreign affairs (i.e. Saddam had no “Weapons of Mass Destruction“). The American foreign policy establishment, the legacy media, and the State Department have held a questionable relationship with the truth. Therefore, I decided to conduct my own research on the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Simply put, there’s a lot more to the story when it comes to Ukraine. While doing some research, I stumbled upon an interesting bit of information. This post will discuss my recent discovery about the US government’s involvement in an Ukrainian revolution. Let’s get started!

The 2014 Revolution

In 2014, a coup/revolt took place in Ukraine. Due to the coup, then-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych was deposed as President. This 2014 coup is now referred to as the Maidan/Ukrainian Revolution.

Back in 2010, Yanukovych was elected as President of Ukraine in what international observers considered to be a fair election (though the Fall 2004 run-off presidential election that he won was nullified due to supposed corruption; he lost the 2nd run-off for the Ukrainian presidency in January 2005).

At the time of the 2014 Ukrainian revolution, Yanukovych was considered the duly-elected president of Ukraine. However, a coup took place in early 2014 when violent riots erupted in the capital city of Kiev. Yanukovych lost control the situation, made concessions to the opposition party, and fled the capital before the new government issued a warrant for his arrest.

In just a few months, this swift revolution caused the removal of the sitting President of Ukraine and the appointment of a more EU-friendly president in Oleksandr Turchynov.

That’s some pretty wild stuff there.

Nevertheless, the primary reason for the 2014 Ukrainian coup resulted from President’s Yanukovych’s pro-Russian sympathies. He desired to align Ukraine with Russia over Western Europe/ the European Union. In fact, Yanukovych chose not to sign a pact with the European Union in late 2013–which would’ve economically integrated Ukraine with the EU.

All right, so you may wonder what’s the big deal. Why does it matter that Ukraine had a revolution in 2014? Good question: that’s what the rest of this post is for.

Here is the juicy part of the story: there is strong evidence to suggest that the United States government aided the 2014 Ukrainian revolution. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that I have 100% incontrovertible proof of this claim. However, the evidence is quite strong and does bolster my argument.

America’s involvement in the 2014 Ukrainian Revolution has opened my eyes to the dubious nature of America’s foreign policy decision-making. Simply put, the “Globalist American Empire’s” foreign-policy does not align with the interests of the American people.

Let’s move onto the juicy part of the story.

The Globalist American Empire knows no Bounds

With this background set-up, we’ll discuss some evidence that the United States government supported the 2014 Ukrainian revolution.

1. A Leaked Phone Call from the Assistant Secretary of State

In early February 2014, someone leaked a phone call between the US Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and US Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt (here’s a audio recording of the phone call).

Secretary Nuland talked with Ambassador Pyatt about whom they thought should become the next head of the Ukrainian government. Mind you, this phone conversation took place before Ukraine’s President Viktor Yanukovych was overthrown. Therefore, this phone call’s timing and content demonstrates that the US State Department was working to influence the installation of the post-revolution Ukrainian government.

At the time, the Obama administration denied that it influenced the Ukrainian opposition during the 2014 revolution. However, this phone call appears to contradict that State Department-sponsored narrative.

Pretty shady if you ask me.

2. America’s $1 Billion Loan Guarantee to Ukraine

In April 2014, the US Congress loaned $1 billion to the post-revolution Ukrainian government (here is the text of the Congressional bill). At the time, then-US Vice President Joe Biden claimed that America’s financial/military aid to Ukraine would help ensure democratic elections in Ukraine on May 25th, 2014.

Remember, this money was sent to the post-revolution Ukrainian government–which means that the American government waited to loan money to a Ukrainian government that was less friendly to Russia (because the Russia’s democratically elected president was more friendly to Russia). We essentially gave $1 Billion to a government that stemmed from a coup.

The then-deposed President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych (having escaped to Russia) criticized America’s aid to the post-revolution government–on the grounds that he was illegally ousted by means of a coup.

Can this story get any more embarrassing? For all its talk about supporting democracy, the US federal government has a checkered past in de-stabilizing other countries’ governments.

3. US Senator John McCain’s Endorsement of Protestors

Back in the day, US Senator John McCain was known for being a huge war-hawk.

In late 2013, Senator McCain publicly supported the protestors of the democratically-elected Ukrainian government. Here’s a quote from McCain in 2013: “I’m praising their (i.e. the Ukrainians’) ability and their desire to demonstrate peacefully for change that I think they deserve.”

In fact, McCain even dined with the leaders of the Ukrainian government’s opposition party–the Svoboad Party–in December 2013.

Moreover, Senator McCain personally visited the Ukrainian protests in the Ukrainian capital of Kiev.

That’s wild. A sitting US Government official met with the same people who illegally overthrew the Ukrainian government. Where are the “hard-hitting” journalists to point out this behavior? The answer: nowhere.

4. Potential US Funding of the Revolution

I couldn’t find as much information on this topic. so I am not 100% sure that I can definitely prove that the US funded the 2014 Ukrainian revolution. However, I am fairly certain that the US federal government provided some indirect financial assistance to the revolution.

From my research, it appears that the US government funded various US organizations and NGOs that supported the revolution. Organizations such as the National Endowment for Democracy and the US Agency of Internal Development sought to encourage political change in Ukraine for years (e.g. the 2004 Orange Revolution) before the 2014 revolution took place.

I did not find evidence that the US Government primarily or completely funded the Ukrainian revolution. Instead, my research seems to suggest that the US government took advantage of the situation to promote the Globalist American Empire’s interests–promoting transnational organizations, curtailing nationalism/sovereignty, etc.

The Point

What’s the point?

The purpose of this post is to show that current American foreign policy (post-Cold War) does not benefit the American people.

The Ukraine is not a beacon of democracy. It is a corrupt satellite state of global special interests.

I am not justifying Russia’s recent invasion of Ukraine. However, the war-hungry neo-conservatives and foreign policy establishment have been lying to the American people about the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Ukraine is not a bastion of freedom nor a key ally to the United States.

Russia is not the main enemy of the United States. Our primary enemy is not a foreign nation. No, the real adversary of the American people is the American regime & the various arms of the regime (e.g. the feds, foreign special interests, the Washington establishment, corporate lobbyists, etc.).

It’s a tough pill for most people to swallow, but people need to know that Russia is not our nation’s primary threat.

To close, here’s a brief video from the American Populist Union. I highly recommend it as the video covers many of the points I made at the end of this post. Anyways, take care and God Bless!
