Only America First in 2022

2022 is gearing up to be a big year for the Republican Party. The GOP is seeking to take back the US House and US Senate in this year’s midterm elections, and many states’ governorships are up for grabs.

Clearly, there’s a huge opportunity for conservatives to enact meaningful policies in the coming years if Republican candidates can win their respective races.

However, winning elections is not everything. Just having a bunch of politicians with the letter “R” behind their name doesn’t mean anything most times. For decades, many states have elected Republicans-in-name-only (RINOs). These RINOs have undermined American sovereignty, the American worker, and the American people.

Electing any-ol’ Republican won’t save our nation. Taking back the US House in 2022 won’t cut it.

What matters is electing “America 1st Conservatives” into office.

What gives me hope is that a large crop of America First conservatives is running in the 2022 election cycle. In this post, we’ll discuss 3 fresh, America-First candidates in 2022 (side note: none of these three men are incumbents in their elections).

The Candidates

1. Blake Masters (US Senate–Arizona)

Blake Masters is one of my favorite candidates in this election cycle. It’s hard not to like the guy once you find out about him.

wikipedia.org

Masters is an America 1st patriot, best-selling author, and president of both Thiel Capital (a large investment fund) and the Thiel Foundation. The Thiel Foundation financially supports young entrepreneurs and scientific/technological research.

Masters announced his candidacy for Arizona’s US Senate seat last July. Masters has an uphill battle for this seat. Not only does Masters have to face a crowded Republican primary, he also has to face incumbent senator Mark Kelly (Democrat). Simply put, this election won’t be easy for Masters. However, his campaign is gaining traction in Populist/Nationalist Conservative circles. Also, he has raised a significant amount of money for the race.

Masters frames himself as an “America First” conservative in his campaign advertising. He advocates for limiting legal immigration (based), defends homeschooling, plans to end Big Tech Censorship (e.g. repealing Section 230), opposes Red Flag laws, and supports tough on crime measures. The man is on point when it comes to his policy positions.

Here is a well-produced video from the Master’s campaign YouTube channel. Go give it a watch (it’s only a few minutes long).

2. Don Huffines (Governor–Texas)

Don Huffines is in it to win it. A businessman and former State Senator, Huffines is looking to unseat incumbent Governor Greg Abbott.

wikipedia.org

Texas is a pretty epic state (I know from personal experience). However, the state is trending the wrong way electorally. Each year, Texas is trending toward voting more Democrat. Not to mention, the state is also suffering from mass illegal immigration.

If you’re familiar with Texas politics, then you probably know that Greg Abbott (Republican) is the governor of Texas, and he is running for reelection in 2022.

Now, Abbott seems like a nice guy. I heard him give a brief speech once at a conference in 2021. However, my issue is that Governor Greg Abbott has not done enough to keep Texas great. Huffines is the kind of governor that Texas needs.

Huffines has stated that he WILL BUILD A WALL on Texas’s Southern border. The federal government has failed to secure the border. Governor Abbott has failed to shore up Texas’s border in his eight years as governor. In short, Huffines wants to protect his home state from illegal immigration.

Besides the wall, Huffines wants to eliminate Texas’s high state property tax, end Big Tech censorship of Texans, restore election integrity, and ban vaccine mandates (from both the government and private sector). Sign me up for policies of that caliber. Huffines knows what matters for Texans in 2022.

Huffines has a tough road ahead. He first has to finish as a top-two vote getter in the Republican primary for Texas’s governor. Assuming no single candidate gets over 50% of the Republican primary vote, then Huffines would likely face Abbott in a runoff election. If Huffines were to defeat Abbott, then he would face the Democrat nominee in the general election–for governor of Texas. Beto O’Rouke seems to be the front-runner candidate in the Democratic primary. It might be a tall task for Huffines, but he definitely has a shot to become the next governor of Texas.

3. JD Vance (US Senate–Ohio)

If you’ve read my blog before, then you might remember that I reviewed JD Vance’s memoir Hillbilly Elegy. I can’t tell you how excited I was when Vance announced his candidacy for the US Senate seat in Ohio.

wikipedia.org

Fortunately, Vance does not have an incumbent to go against. The current US Senator of Ohio Rob Portman announced that he was not seeking re-election for his seat in 2022. Consequently, good timing has worked out for Vance’s political aspirations.

Vance is truly a man of the working class. He grew in a dysfunctional, white working-class family in Middletown, Ohio. Due to his impressive work ethic, Vance improved his life by joining the US military and later graduating from Yale law school.

Vance witnessed first-hand how free trade, a declining manufacturing base, and opioids hollowed out the Rust Belt. He knows deep-down that our ruling elite’s poor decision-making led to Middle America’s decline. Vance truly “gets it”.

Consequently, Vance wants to combat the opioid crisis, bring back manufacturing jobs, and encourage family formation. His positions reflect Vance’s populist values and empathy for working-class Americans.

Vance truly cares about working-class America. That’s why I support Vance. His policy ideas will actually improve ordinary Americans–rather than multinational corporations or government bureaucrats.

Here’s a final video that highlights Vance’s background and strengths as a candidate.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this post! 2022 is going to be a banner year for authentic, America 1st candidates (on the federal and state level).
