Meet Dan “Cringeshaw”
If you’re active in right-wing politics, then you’ve probably heard of Dan Crenshaw.
Crenshaw is a member of the US House of Representatives and of the Republican party. He currently serves as the US House Rep for Texas’s 2nd Congressional District (near the Houston area).
For context, Dan Crenshaw was first elected to the US House in 2018. Before entering politics, he served in the US Navy Seals during the 2010s–which included a deployment to Afghanistan.
After Crenshaw was initially elected, many conservative organizations and media outlets trotted him out as a “conservative freedom fighter”. He made appearances at Turning Point USA conferences)/events, YAF events, various Fox News programs, and even the 2020 Republican National Convention (RNC). He’s even hosted his own youth conference in Texas. Quite a meteoric rise for a freshman Congressman.
For most people, seeing Dan Crenshaw “owning the libs” on Fox News means that he’s our guy, right? He seems like a solid guy, right? He’s a young, charismatic war veteran that repeats generic conservative talking points, so he must be a future heavyweight in the GOP? That’s the general view that the ordinary Republican voter has when it comes to Crenshaw.
I’ll admit that’s what I used to think. Thankfully, I finally saw through the smokescreen.
Let’s just say that Crenshaw is not what he appears to be. He’s not the principled conservative politician that our nation needs at this time.
This post will show how Dan Crenshaw has failed to conserve the traditional American society. He’s definitely a “neo-conservative”. As you’ll read on, Crenshaw supports endless foreign wars, limitations on gun rights, and progressive positions on social issues.
Dan Crenshaw is not cool. He’s not a conservative. He’s just cringe. Now, let’s meet Dan “Cringeshaw”.
It’s Called “We do a Little Gatekeeping”
I can’t particularly recall the exact moment that I realized that Dan Crenshaw is NOT A CONSERVATIVE.
I know that I soured on Crenshaw at some point during 2021. However, his reaction to the 2021 botched Afghanistan withdrawal was the icing on the cake for me when it came to my opposition of Crenshaw.
In August 2021, Crenshaw wrote an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal that highlighted his opposition to a complete withdrawal of US troop in Afghanistan. He essentially shot down all opposition to the endless wars as an “emotional” argument. Of course, Crenshaw failed to mention how the United States never had issues with Islamic terrorism before the US began its military involvement in the Middle East.
At that point, I decided to do my own research about Dan Crenshaw. For the rest of this post, I will share my findings on Dan Crenshaw and how he is just a “conservative grifter” who doesn’t put America First.
Findings
-Crenshaw’s Support for Red Flag Laws
According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, a red flag law is a “law allowing courts to prevent people who show signs of being a danger to themselves or to others from having access to firearms.”
Red flag laws do not uphold the 2nd Amendment and the Constitutional right of Due Process. Moreover, Red Flag laws do not seem to decrease the level of violent crime/homicides for states that implemented them.
Crenshaw’s support of Red Flag Laws should be troubling to say the least if you value the 2nd Amendment. I just don’t buy it that conservatives should support laws that give the court system the right to take away one’s firearms before one has committed a crime/without a criminal background.
-Crenshaw’s s Support of H1B Visas
For the uninitiated, H1-B Visas are temporary permits that allow American companies to hire high-skill foreigners. These workers usually work in the United States for a temporary time period of 3 to 6 years.
My issue here is that H1B visas are notorious for depressing the wages of white-collar workers (especially in the Tech industry) by increasing the supply of workers in the job pool–namely by adding foreign workers to the mix. Major corporations benefit from this type of visa while American workers do not. It just comes down to basic economics here–a higher supply of workers leads to lower wages. In 2019, Crenshaw voted “yes” on a bill–HR 1044–that supports allowing foreign Tech workers to take a higher proportion of H1-B Visas.
It sure seems like Dan Crenshaw doesn’t care much for American tech workers by supporting this bill. His actions would make sense considering he’s received campaign donations from Microsoft employees.
-Crenshaw’s claim that President Donald Trump “incited” the January 6th Capitol protests
-Crenshaw defended RINO Liz Cheney after she voted to impeach President Trump
-Crenshaw snapped at a young lady’s question
On a recent episode of the Jocko Willinck podcast, Dan Crenshaw made a dubious statement about Jesus Christ. Here’s the quote:
“The important thing is that we have societal hero archetypes that we look up to. Jesus is a hero archetype. Superman is a hero archetype. Real characters, too. I could name a thousand. Rosa Parks, Ronald Reagan — all of these people embody certain attributes that the American people think, ‘This is good,'”
At a glance, Crenshaw seemed to deny the divinity of Jesus Christ in this statement. Consequently, a young lady respectfully confronted Dan Crenshaw about this quote during a local Tea Party meeting in Texas.
Crenshaw reacted in an unprofessional manner. He pulled his off his best impression of Jack Murphy and snapped at the girl by telling her “Don’t question my faith!!”
Here’s a video clip of the incident (mind you it’s from the account of Crenshaw’s political opponent, but the video does check-out based on the reporting about this incident).
-Crenshaw’s support for the Log Cabin Republicans
On its website, the Log Cabin Republicans claims to be an organization “representing LGBT conservatives and straight allies”. It also affirms “to make the Republican Party more inclusive, particularly on LGBT issues”.
The Log Cabin Republicans lists Dan Crenshaw as one of its Congressional supporters. Crenshaw also penned a letter of support for the Log Cabin Republicans in January 2020.
Moreover, Crenshaw has supported gay marriage in the past, but his general positions on the issue is more liberartian in nature–which is that the government shouldn’t be involved with marriage.
-Dan Crenshaw’s Tie to the World Economic Forum
The World Economic Forum is a globalist organization that supports a “Great Reset” of capitalist economic systems in the wake of Covid-19.
In 2019, the World Economic Forum listed Dan Crenshaw on its website as a member of its “127 Young Global Leaders for the Class of 2019”.
Dan Crenshaw has denied any connections to the World Economic Forum. However, there has been little media coverage of the whole situation. US House Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene did call out Crenshaw for his tie on the World Economic Forum.
-Dan Crenshaw’s criticism of the House Freedom Caucus
About 2 months ago, Dan Crenshaw attacked America First Patriots of the House Freedom Caucus–Paul Gosar, Andy Biggs, Jim Jordan, Matt Gaetz. etc.–by calling them “grifters” and “performance artists”.
For context, the Freedom Caucus consists of the most conservative members of the US House of Representatives.
Crenshaw’s line of argument was that the members of Freedom Caucus only repeat conservative talking points without actually doing anything.
Back in 2015, the Pew Research Center reported that the Freedom Caucus members are generally more conservative than your average typical Republican–by a fair margin too. Upon closer examination, the voting records and actions of the Freedom Caucus (such as their support for the January 6th prisoners) contradict Crenshaw’s claim.
The icing on the cake is that Crenshaw also defended infamous-RINO Adam Kinzinger for his supposed support of Trump’s agenda. What Crenshaw failed to mention was Kinzinger’s vote to impeach President Trump in January 2021. Also, Kinzinger served on the January 6th House select committee. Remember, Kinzinger is the guy that Dan Crenshaw has defended. Just saying.
-Campaign Contributions
Last but not least, we have to talk about Dan Crenshaw’s Campaign Contributions. The Open Secrets website lists all the top campaign contributors for every single member of Congress.
Here are some of Crenshaw’s top campaign donors. His campaign donations come from both individuals in these companies and PACs associated with these companies:
-Military Industrial Complex companies: Raytheon, Lockheed Martin
-Kirkland Ellis: a law firm that’s defended scandalized major corporations and previously provided representation for Jeffery Epstein (only received contributions from individuals in Kirkland-Ellis)
-Big Finance: Goldman Sachs, UBS, Citadel, Wells Fargo
-Big Oil: Valero, Chevron, Exxon
-Microsoft Corp
Conclusion
To close, I wanted to mention that a guy named Jameson Ellis is primarying Dan Crenshaw for his Congressional seat. Here’s the link to his campaign website if you’re curious to learn more.
Anyways, I hope you gained some new knowledge from this post. Hope you all are doing well!
